Ten natural ways to help with anxiety.

I grew up thinking the sudden worry and stress out of nowhere were somehow the universe telling me something bad just happened. And that is when I try to contact my loved ones to make sure they are alive, the worst and longest minutes of my life.

Now 20 years later I have realized that it has always been anxiety attacks.

Now when my daughter who is only 11 years told me she gets them too, I started to share my experiences. When I asked her for the symptoms she encountering, it was no denying she knew exactly the horrible feeling I have been dealing with for two decades now.

The good news is more and more people are talking about mental illness and it has brought light to many people like myself that have felt alone and ashamed for it. I honestly thought something was just wrong with me. Now I am not the type of person that takes over the counter medicines, let alone doctors recommended prescription-for I have always hated taking pills. And because of my personal preference I have always looked into alternatives.

So what is anxiety? In my own experience, I can only describe the basic such symptoms like nervousness, agitation, tension, a racing heart, and chest pain.

Crazy fact though, anxiety is among the most common mental health issues. In the United States, more than 18 percent of adults are affected by anxiety disorders each year.
